SpringTime Tips with Geraldine Flanagan

SpringTime Tips with Geraldine Flanagan

| by Geraldine Flanagan | Posted in Navan Health & Wellbeing

Here are our weight management expert Geraldine Flanagan’s tips for staying in shape this week.

Hi All and welcome to Spring, where the days are getting longer, and nature is preparing to blossom.

One of my favourite sayings is that Summer bodies are made in the Winter and having got off to a great start you’re on your way.  Remember its never too late to start!

After discussing the benefits of being active in my last blog I hope that it motivated and encouraged activity, no matter how small and that you are starting to feel the benefits.

Often, we depend on the scale to determine how well we are doing and if we don`t see the numbers going down quickly we can lose our motivation.  Non-scale victories are oh so important to keep us going and remind us of why we started.  Are your clothes fitting a little better, or maybe you received a compliment?  Making better food choices and drinking more water is a positive lifestyle change and one to be proud of.  Because of these changes, we may have more energy, sleep better, getting fitter and improve our mood.  When we feel good about ourselves we make better food choices and when we feel rubbish we crave the wrong foods.  With all our positive lifestyle changes its good to know we can still have our treat, whatever you want your treat to be (it could be chocolate, crisps, your favourite tipple, takeout etc.).  What changes is the frequency of our treat or maybe we can find a healthier alternative to our favourite.  Enjoy your treat and this beautiful time of year and all it has to offer.  I will catch up with your soon.  Keep up the good work. Regards Ger x
